Learn about Altapac's Product Structure

Products are entered in the Maropost cPanel like on any Maropost store. What’s different is how the altapac.com theme reads them. It gives many fields a job that stock Maropost doesn’t have, and it expects some values in exact formats.

How a product reaches the site

• Two product page layouts. The Website Design Template field picks the layout. Leave it blank for the standard product page. Set it to bikeRacks for the bike-rack page, which has its own sections, tiles and add-ons.
• Product cards. Category pages and other product lists show products as cards. Some fields show only on cards, not on the product page, such as misc4 (Manufacturer’s Sku) and the image badge in misc21 and misc22.
• What the theme reads. Standard fields, custom fields (misc fields), item specifics, cross-sells, prices for each customer group, and stock. The theme combines these to choose the availability label, the buy button and the price shown.

Wrong values fail silently

cPanel saves whatever you type. If a value isn’t in the format the theme expects, the site usually leaves that content out, with no error in cPanel or on the page. Check the live product page and a category page after every change. Saving the product in cPanel also refreshes its cached page and cards. Changes sent through the API don’t, so re-save the product in cPanel after one.
