Custom Product Fields

This page lists every product custom field (misc field) on the store, one card per field. Each card gives the field’s type, what it does on altapac.com and, in the attributes tab, whether the site uses it.

To fill a field in, use Product field formats. It has the exact format, an example and the common mistake for every field the theme reads. For bike racks, see Set up a bike-rack product.

Wrong formats fail silently

Maropost saves whatever you type. If a value is in the wrong shape, the site usually leaves it out, with no error in cPanel or on the page. List fields use the pipe |, not commas.

How to read the cards

• Used on Webstore means the altapac.com theme reads the field. This was checked against the theme on 21 October 2026.
• Used in Docs and Used in Config are carried over from the original field reference. They weren’t re-checked.
• The three Boolean fields (misc12, misc25, misc26) show as true/false in cPanel. The store stores them as y/n, which is what the API returns and the theme reads. Set them with the cPanel control and nothing else.
• Counts and examples marked “2026-10-21” come from a pull of the 163 bike-rack products on 21 October 2026.

Store Finder fields are a separate set

Store Finder records have their own misc1 to misc5 (opening hours and the location-page slug). They have nothing to do with the product fields of the same numbers on this page. See Store hours for those.

Range Nudge

Description

Format: SKU|sentence. The SKU of the product you’re pointing to, one pipe, then one sentence. Example, from the RockyMounts AfterParty (10270): 9012100|No hitch receiver? The OutPace 2-Bike mounts on a 50mm tow ball.

Description: A one-line suggestion pointing to another product in the range. It shows in the Capacity group of the bike-rack Specifications section as the sentence, followed by a link. The link text is the target product’s current name, so don’t write it yourself. Does nothing on the standard product template. 103 of the 163 bike-rack products have one (2026-10-21).

When the nudge silently disappears

• The target SKU is misspelt, or the target product is deleted, disabled, unapproved or not visible.
• The rack has none of the capacity item specifics (Bikes Carried, Max Weight Per Bike, Max Combined Bike Weight), so the Capacity group doesn’t show.
• The sentence comes first, or the SKU has spaces around the pipe.
• The sentence contains another |. Everything after it is dropped.

This field used to be called “Important Notes” and was marked deprecated. It has been reused. Steps are in Set up a bike-rack product.

Manufacturer’s Sku

Description: The SKU number which the Manufacturer specifies. When filled, product cards show it in place of the store SKU. The product page still shows the store SKU, so the two won’t match. 64 of the 163 bike-rack products have it, mostly the same as the store SKU (2BLR holds SBR002, 2026-10-21).

Flush Bar Measurements

Dropship Statement

Description: Any text in this field adds an “Availability information for this product” button to the availability card, on both the standard and bike-rack product pages. The button opens a pop-up titled “Availability Information” that shows the text.

It isn’t tied to Direct Ship Only (misc12) or to stock. The button shows whenever the field has text, except a lone N, which the site treats as off. 32 bike racks (31 Yakima, one Prorack) hold N and show no button (2026-10-21).

Format: A pipe-delimited list of link labels, for example Fitting Instructions|Dimensions (the RockyMounts AfterParty, 10270). Pairs with Document URL’s (misc19) by position: the first name goes with the first URL, and so on. All 163 bike-rack products have one to three documents, and 135 of them have a “Fitting Instructions” link (2026-10-21).

Description: The link text for each product document. Standard product page: a “Resources” panel. Bike racks: links under the Description text and in the Specifications section.

Documents that silently vanish

• A comma-separated list is read as one name.
• One missing name shifts every later name onto the wrong URL.
• A name with no matching URL, or a URL with no /, is dropped (the / rule is not live yet, AUD-13). See misc19.

Format: One image URL, 346 × 86 px according to the original field reference. The theme doesn’t enforce a size. It scales the image to the width of its column.

Description: Searchable Field on SKU, Extended and Normal Search. A campaign image on the product page, linked to Product Header Promo Link (misc29). Standard product page: under the title, above the price. Bike racks: below the buy button, inside the buy card.

Only shows while the product is on promotion

The image is hidden outside the product’s promotion dates, even when this field is filled. See Run a promotion.

Direct Ship Only

Description: Searchable Field on Normal Search. True if this is a non-stocked product that we only ever dropship. What it does depends on where it shows:

• Product page: only at zero stock, the availability card reads “Shipped from supplier”, with a lead-time line if misc14 is set.
• Product cards: at any stock level, a “See Options” button (grid) or “See Buying Options” button (list) replaces Add to Cart.
• Cart: at any stock level, a “Shipped from Supplier” badge.
• Search-engine data: at any stock level, marked as limited availability.

The product page and cards disagree

The product-page buy button ignores this field, so at zero stock the page can still offer “Backorder”. Cards check this field before Discontinued Run Out (misc26), so a discontinued direct-ship product still shows “See Options” on cards.

Not live yet

On altapac.com today, the product page reads “Shipped from supplier” at any stock level, and cards give a direct-ship product the same stock-based button as any other product (an in-stock one gets Add to Cart). The zero-stock rule and the card See Options button arrive with the next theme release (AUD-52, AUD-23).

Vehicle Fitment

Format: The vehicle text only, for example Toyota HiLux 2015 onwards.

Description: Searchable Field on Extended and Normal Search. The details of the vehicle this product fits. Shows on product cards and, on bike racks, as a second paragraph in the “Good to know” box. Not shown on the standard product page. On bike racks it holds vehicle warnings instead, for example This rack has a European round 7-pin plug, and no adapter is supplied. (923020). Two of the 163 racks have it (2026-10-21).

Never start with "For"

Grid cards add “For ” in front of the value, so For Toyota HiLux shows as “For For Toyota HiLux”. List-view cards and the bike-rack “Good to know” box print the value exactly as typed. Write text that reads well in both.

Estimated Lead Time

Description

Format: A whole number of days, for example 5. On the bike racks, 76 hold 5 and 48 hold 0 (2026-10-21).

Description: Additional Filter 1. Lead time in days. Adds a line under the availability label on the product page:

• Direct ship (misc12) at zero stock: “Usually leaves the supplier in 5 days”
• Special order (misc25), out of stock or oversellable: “Usually available in 5 days”
• Incoming stock with no future arrival date: “Expected in 5 days”
• Backorder: “Usually back in stock in 5 days”

It’s never shown on in-stock, sold-out or discontinued products.

There is no default lead time

Blank or 0 means no lead-time line at all. The site doesn’t fall back to a standard number of days.

Every URL must contain a /

A URL with no /, such as a bare part number like 610700, is dropped with no error. On the standard product page, the whole Resources panel is hidden unless misc9 has something in it and misc19 contains a / somewhere.

Not live yet

On altapac.com today, any non-empty URL makes a link, so a bare part number gives a link that opens a “page not found” error. The / rule arrives with the next theme release (AUD-13).

Video Attachments

Format: One bare YouTube video ID: the 11 characters after v= in a YouTube link, for example dPmdcvvhxr8. 61 of the 163 bike racks have one (2026-10-21).

Description: Adds a video slide and thumbnail to the bike-rack gallery. Does nothing on the standard product template.

One ID, not a URL or a list

A full YouTube URL, or two IDs separated by a comma, gives a broken video slide. One video per product.

Discontinued Run Out

Description

Description: Marks a product as discontinued. At any stock level, the product page shows a “This product has been Discontinued” notice. After that it depends on stock:

• With stock: the availability card reads “Final stock” and “This model is being run out”. The product can still be bought.
• At zero stock: the card reads “No longer available”. The product page and cards have no buy button, and the cart shows a “No longer available” badge.

Cards check other settings first

On cards, Direct Ship Only (misc12) and products with options or variations are checked first. A discontinued product in either group still shows “See Options” on cards.

Not live yet

On altapac.com today, cards and the cart don’t read this field, so a sold-out discontinued product shows a Backorder button on cards and “Backorder Available” in the cart. The standard page’s notice also ends in a “More info” link that goes nowhere. The card and cart states, and the notice without the dead link, arrive with the next theme release (AUD-25, AUD-49).

Thumb Description

Description: Used in two places only:

• Bike-rack add-on cards: the reason line under an add-on’s name, read from the add-on product, not the rack.

It doesn’t replace the visible Short Description anywhere, or the page’s meta description. None of the 163 bike-rack products, racks or rack add-ons, had it filled on 2026-10-21.

Set it on the add-on, not the rack

For a bike-rack add-on card to show a reason line, fill this field on the add-on product. Filling it on the rack does nothing there. See Set up a bike-rack product.

Description: The image on each feature card. Together with misc44 and misc45 it builds a strip of feature cards. Standard product page: “Key Features”, at the top of the Description section. Bike racks: in the Features section. 30 of the 163 bike racks have feature cards, and on 15 of them every heading is blank (2026-10-21).

Real example, the first two cards of the RockyMounts BackStage (50431): misc43 /assets/alt_5_thumb/50431.jpg|/assets/alt_9_thumb/50431.webp, misc44 Swing Up Stowage|Easy Boot Access.

The two templates use different rules

• Standard product page: all or nothing. The strip shows only when misc43, misc44 and misc45 are all filled. Then every position becomes a card.
• Bike racks: card by card. A card shows when it has an image and at least a heading or a description. Cards with no image are skipped.

A rack with misc44 left empty still shows cards. Copy the same values to a standard product and nothing shows.

Bike-Rack Section Headings

Format: A pipe-delimited list of up to four headings, by position: description headline, Features heading, Specifications heading, Add-ons heading. Example: ||Rack specs changes only the Specifications heading.

Description: Overrides the section headings on one bike rack. An empty position keeps that section’s default:

1. Description headline: “Bikes Carried, Vehicle Mount mounted”, built from the item specifics. If either is missing, the product name.
2. Features: “Built for the getaway”
3. Specifications: “The numbers”
4. Add-ons: “Finish the setup”

A fifth or later position is ignored. Does nothing on the standard product template. One rack uses it: the Thule OutWay Hanging 2 (994001) holds Two bikes, any hatch, no towbar.||The Numbers|, which sets the headline and the Specifications heading (2026-10-21).

Headings only, and keep the positions

A | inside a heading, or a missing empty position, moves every later heading onto the wrong section.
