Services navigation

We have 2 Distinct service templates, which are used to generate the main services pages.

• Servie-Parent Template: This is content type leans into a navigation first design language, generating children as cards etc. and does not have concessions for products. It is to be used for any level 1 service pages that have child service pages.
• Services Template: This is a more complex template that has concessions for products and is used for any bottom level Service child.

Note

The Services Templates are inteded to allow for as much flexibility as possible, while still maintaining a consistent look and feel. This is achieved through the use of the ‘Custom Page Content’ section, which allows for the addition of custom content to the template.

Servies Parent Template

A Parent is specified in part by its hierarchical relationship, to other service items. Please be mindful that a hierarchical parent may not be appropriate for use with the service-parent body template. Depending on the type of children and a number of other factors. The Servies Parent Template is used for level 1 Service pages that have child service pages below. If you are unsure, please consult the WebMaster.

Requirements

Main Image:

• Dimensions: Width must be 1450px. The minimum height should be 300px.
• File Type: PNG or JPG
• Guidelines: This image serves as the primary visual element. Ensure it is relevant and of high quality. It should not include transparency.

Short Description:

• Length: Between 140-180 characters.
• Guidelines: This is the short description of the service. It should be concise and to the point. It should not include any links or other content. It will be used as the SEO meta description and whenever a card is generated for this content item.

Alternate Image (Alt_1):

• Dimensions: 450px by 450px.
• File Type: PNG or JPG
• Guidelines: This image is utilized in the body to compliment the main description. It is also used as the main image element for cards that are generated for this content item.

Content Description:

• Length: Approximately 250 words.
• Structure: Should start with a H2 heading. The content should provide a detailed description of the service type.
• Flexibility: The word count is a guideline. Adjust as necessary to maintain page responsiveness.

Child Content items:

• Guidelines: A ‘Parent’ needs to have hierarchical children in order to generate a card list. Ideally a parent has 3 or more children. If there are no children, consider using the ‘Services Template’ instead.

Optional Content

Content Description 2:

• Length: There are no strict length requirements or restrictions for this content sections. However it is recommended to keep it to a minimum of 100 words.
• Purpose: Allows for the addition of custom content beneath the standard section of the template.
• Styling: The content is enclosed within a DIV with the ID ‘_Custom-page-content’. Any custom styling should be applied inline or prefixed with the DIV ID to avoid affecting global styles. Eg: #_Custom-page-content h3 {*}.
• Icons: Can be used from FontAwesome up to v6.2. Pseudo-elements recommended for maintainability.

Assigned Service Products:

• Quantity: Ideally a Service should have a minimum 4 products assigned to is.
• Guidelines: The products should be assigned to the Service, be Active and Unapproved.
• Visibility: To enable visibility of the products in the Service, the optional Services List Label must be populated.

Services List Label:

• Purpose: This is an optional field that allows for visibility of the product list. It also acts as the heading text for the section.
• Logic: Thumb Name field ([@content_label1@]) must have text content. Case Sensitive.
