Content Panel

The Content Panel is a dynamic area that displays additional information related to the selected Level 1 menu item. This panel enhances user engagement by providing relevant content and links directly within the menu structure.

The secondary purpose of the Content Panel is to provide SEO benefits.

Content Source

The content in this panel is powered by a default content zone or a related content list for Level 1 items.

Default Content Zone

The default content zone acts as a fallback item where general content is displayed when no specific content has been set for Level 1 items. This ensures that the Content Panel is never empty, providing users with a consistent experience.

The default content is usually broad and applicable to multiple Level 1 items, serving as a base layer of information.

It can be found in the ‘Content Zones’ section of the Neto Control Panel.

Each Level 1 menu item can and should have specific related content selected.

This allows for more targeted and relevant information to be displayed in the Content Panel, tailored to the context of the selected Level 1 item. By linking specific content pages to Level 1 items through the ‘Related Content’ section, you ensure that the information presented is highly relevant and engaging.

It is expected that each Level 1 parent has related content selected to ensure the panel is populated with useful information.

This related content should be carefully curated to align with the interests and needs of the users navigating through that particular section of the menu.

The goal is to enhance user experience by providing contextually appropriate content that aids in navigation and discovery.

Usage

To link a content page to the Content Panel, use the ‘Related Content’ section on the desired Level 1 page. This selector allows you to choose specific content that will be displayed when the Level 1 item is selected in the menu.

Fallback

If the Relateed Content is not set for a Level 1 item, the Content Panel will fallback to the default. The Default is set by a Content Zone in the Neto Control Panel which accepts a content ID.

While this is a fallback, it is not recommended to rely on it for anything other than failsafe.
